Thank You, Cannon!

Piedmont Residential Development Center (PRDC) built the first home in 1980 however much fundraising was completed in the late 70’s. With a long standing partnership with Cannon Foundation from groundbreaking stage, it has paved the way for the success PRDC has accomplished for many years.

In recent news, Cannon Foundation granted PRDC $55,000 to aid in customized wheelchairs for 6 local residents. Lisa Azzarello, PRDC Executive Director says, “In seeing the vision for PRDC, it is so inspiring to see the level of commitment Cannon Foundation continues to support the residents and mission here”.

PRDC is always engaging in grant opportunities so residents are provided with the very best in technology. It is made possible by the generous contributions from the community that keeps the humbled, compassionate staff at PRDC hard at work!

Thank you to Cannon Foundation for their recent as well as continual support!

PRDC busy this Holiday Season!

PRDC is rolling out a couple very special events this holiday season- Adopt-a-Child Christmas program and the annual Silent Auction. Although PRDC is still dipping their feet into planning special ways for community involvement, it has been a long time coming that they have wanted to do more in the area. These two events are fun ways for kids and adults to get involved by raising funds and awareness to such a worthy cause.

Adopt-a-Child Christmas Program

The Christmas program will provide residents guaranteed Christmas gifts that are much needed like warm clothing and supplies for activities. The inferred costs of having a child with developmental disabilities is often taxing on a family, leaving Christmas gifts unattainable. So, PRDC asks the community to help out!

Annual Silent Auction

The Silent Auction is to aid in funding the current need of more, advanced adaptive equipment for residents. Adaptive equipment is the medical chairs that are often times motorized and provide more comfort for residents that have severe disabilities. The goal at PRDC is to provide the best quality of care for the residents and their families!

To get involved in the Adopt-a-Child Christmas Program you can visit the PRDC Christmas tree at Rick’s Cafe & Takeout in Mt. Pleasant, NC from November 7, 2014 to December 20, 2014.

The Silent Auction will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society Museum in downtown Mt. Pleasant, NC. For a sneak peek on items available to bid on, like our Facebook page at
